Local executive recruiter takes top Midwest honor

MENASHA, WI – Sharon Hulce, president and CEO of Employment Resource Group Inc., has been named Midwest Billing Manager of the Year for the second consecutive year by Management Recruiters International. Managers in more than 200 MRI offices in the Midwest competed for the award.  It was presented Feb. 6 at the MRI Midwest convention in Itasca, IL.

Hulce has been in the executive recruiting business for 13 years and opened her own office

18 months ago. In that time, ERG has grown from 2 to 18 employees.  Sales have grown from 37% and 25%, respectively, in 2002 and 2003.

In presenting the award, Gary Williams, MRI’s vice president of franchise sales in Cleveland, said, “The numbers behind Sharon’s award are clearly impressive. But what the numbers don’t tell you is about Sharon’s passion for this business, for doing it right, for thinking outside the box, for giving back more than she gets. Sharon is the consummate business person.”

Although the award recognized Hulce’s personal success, she was quick to point to the team effort that produced the results. “We have a phenomenal group of people who are incredibly focused on their customers,” she said.  “And we have clients who are equally dedicated. That combination is powerful.”

ERG offers a relationship-based approach to recruiting, which is distinct in the industry, and the hallmark of Hulce’s success. “It is critical to understand a company’s environment and culture in

order to find the right candidate,” she said.

ERG specializes in recruiting professionals in health care, pharmaceutical, construction, manufacturing, insurance and other specialty industries and organizations. ERG’s corporate philosophy is one of giving back to the Fox Valley community it calls home.  Last year, the shining star in the company’s pro-bono work included the search for a new president of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Currently, ERG is sharing its time and talents in search for new executive directors of both the Fox Valley Symphony and Attic Theater.
