New office building planned
for Appleton’s southeast side

ERG Breaks Ground at Construction of New Building - Click to EnlargeAppleton, WI (April 6, 2005) – Employment Resource Group (ERG) and Commercial Horizons are teaming up with Consolidated Construction Co. to build a two-story, 22,000-square-foot office building on Appleton’s southeast side.

The building will be located off Plank Road, just west of Wal-Mart, on a new street to be called Destination Drive.  Employees from ERG, Commercial Horizons and the design-build team will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (April 7) on the site.

Initial occupants of the building will be ERG and Commercial Horizons. ERG, an executive search firm currently located in Menasha, will occupy the entire first floor.  “The additional space will enable us to better serve our client companies by growing our recruiting force and staff from 20 to 60 individuals,” said Sharon Hulce, president and CEO.  ERG has been recognized by Management Recruiters International as one of its fastest-growing franchises.  ERG specializes in executive search in the areas of construction, manufacturing, healthcare, pharma, service industries, law, banking and insurance.

Commercial Horizons, a development company with offices in Appleton and Green Bay, will base its Appleton operations on the second floor of the Destination Drive building.  Commercial Horizons specializes in real estate development, site acquisition, construction management and consulting, as well as property management, commercial brokerage and leasing, tenant services and marketing services.

“This building will be the showpiece of the office park,” said Paul Klister, owner, Commercial Horizons.  “It’s exciting to not only be partnering in the development of the property, but to be moving our Appleton headquarters to the site. The City of Appleton has helped us achieve our vision of a professional office park for this area by creating the TIF district and supporting us in our planning. It’s going to be first-class office space, and we’re proud to call it home.”

Consolidated Construction is a 55-year-old construction firm specializing in design-build construction, general contracting and construction management for manufacturing, retail, commercial and industrial sites. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with ERG and Commercial Horizons to bring this project to life,” said Rick Bickert, president of Consolidated. “This building will really allow us to showcase our work.”

Completion of the building is expected by early September.
